Ed.D. in Educational Leadership
Overview
UConn was recently selected to participate in a Carnegie Foundation project to develop a “doctorate of practice” for educational leaders. Involvement in the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate resulted in a progressive revision of the Ed.D. Program at the Neag School. The new program is based on authentic problems of practice faced by school leaders. Problems of practice are rigorously examined from a variety of lenses through case analysis, theoretical perspectives, and empirical inquiry. Students engage in an in-depth analysis of their problem of practice and generate a final capstone paper with specific recommendations for the field. The next Ed.D. in Educational Leadership cohort will begin in Fall 2013. The deadline for applications is March 1, 2013.
