The project is titled, Museums and Civic Discourse: History, Current Practice, and Future Prospects. The award is from the Whiting Public Engagement Fellowship, which seeks to champion the vital role of the humanities in enriching public life.

  • Eric Bernstein presented a session titled “Creating Structures for Learning and Understanding: Schemata and Mental Models” at the 2017 American Dental Education Association (ADEA) Annual Session in Long Beach, California at the end of March.
  • Eric Bernstein presented one of the closing sessions at the 2017 ASCD Empower! Annual Conference with Fred Ende (Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES) titled “Knock, Knock: Exploring Laughter to Empower Leadership and Learning” in Anaheim, California, also at the end of March.
  • Lexy Parrill ‘17 presented initial results of an inquiry project she has been working on with colleague Mara Dahlgren (Indiana University-Bloomington). The project aims to create a timeline of college union facilities and organizations founding dates, renovations, services, and naming practices. During the presentation Lexy and Mara identified trends and identified how this information could be relevant to future practice.
